All students at the Elementary level receive well-rounded education that includes daily instruction in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Reading, Writing and Religion. In addition is Physical Education, STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Mathematics), Art, Music, and Foreign Language.
Grades PreK through 2nd are self-contained. Grades 3, 4 and 5 rotate classrooms among themselves, having a variety of specialized teachers as they move through the different learning subjects.
Pre-School
Students receive a strong foundation in learning, as our curriculum is focused on Kindergarten readiness. The young students blossom, as they are educated to know and appreciate the love of God in their lives. They learn letters, numbers, letter sounds, and the development of fine and gross motor skills. Goals in our preschool program is learning letter sounds and identification, along with numbers, and being able to write their name; along with being a good friend and how to use our words properly. We have a PreK program for tailored to 3 and 4 year olds, as well as 4 and 5 year olds.
Kindergarten
1st Grade
Curriculum centers around the theme of building knowledge goals and fostering a love of learning. Religion centers around the golden rule: treating others how you would like to be treated. Lessons center around Biblical Stories that provide relevant introductory messages, famous Saints, and slowly introduce God's intention for his people. In Reading and Writing, students are encouraged to explore stories through evaluation, asking questions, and reflecting on what they read, while establishing consistent reading habits that set their foundation. Mathematics lessons integrate addition, subtraction, and early concepts of multiplication and division, using word problems and hands-on activities to help students see how numbers connect to the world around them, providing background to the equations they see. In Science, students investigate the wonders of God’s creation through hands-on discovery, exploring plants, animals, weather, the seasons, and basic properties of matter. In Social Studies, students learn about their community, important roles, and how people work together, helping them develop empathy, respect, and a sense of their place in the world. We use the following high-quality learning materials: McGraw-Hill, Wonders Reading and Writing, Simple Solutions, and Envision Mathematics. Our first graders build essential skills while nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of awe for the natural world.
2nd Grade
Our second grade curriculum focuses on building knowledge while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. In Reading and Writing, students explore a variety of genres, strengthen comprehension skills, and learn to ask questions, summarize, through the reflection on what they read. Writing lessons guide students in organizing ideas, using proper grammar and punctuation, and expanding vocabulary through engaging activities. This is the introduction to cursive handwriting. In Mathematics, students develop number sense and problem-solving skills through addition, subtraction, and early multiplication and division, using word problems, measurement, and patterns to connect math to everyday life. Science lessons encourage hands-on exploration of God’s creation, including plants, animals, weather, the seasons, and the properties of matter, helping students observe, question, and appreciate the natural world. Students work through scientific inquiry, life science, earth science, physical science, and environmental awareness. Using Discover Works materials in Social Studies, students learn about their community, culture, and history, exploring maps, local roles, and citizenship while developing empathy, respect, and a sense of their place in the world. Through the Christ Our Life faith curriculum, students grow in understanding of God, the sacraments, and living a life guided by Christian values. 3rd grade is a turning-pointing in your child's elementary learning career, this is the shift from learning to read to reading to learn. In Science, third graders explore the life cycles of animals and plants, the properties of matter and energy, and the moon, developing hands-on observation and critical thinking skills. Social Studies focuses on communities and the 50 states, helping students understand geography, culture, and the roles people play in their communities. In Mathematics, using enVision Math, students build strategies and patterns for multiplication and division, connect area to multiplication and addition, fluently add and subtract within 1,000, explore fractions, and interpret data. Reading, Language Arts, and Spelling are taught using Wonders, Voyages, and Simple Solutions, with students completing projects such as book reports, biographies, poetry booklets, essays, and creative research assignments throughout the year. Handwriting focuses on cursive letters. The focus is to strength the all around learning skills of the child to encourage their continued success as their mind continues to expand.
4th Grade
This year prepares students for the more advanced concepts and responsibilities in their learning journey. Fourth grade Science covers the sun, planets, and other space objects, as well as minerals and rocks, encouraging curiosity about Earth and the universe. In Social Studies, students learn about government and economic systems, the U.S. Government, the Colony of Pennsylvania, the French and Indian War, and the American Revolution, gaining an understanding of history and civic responsibility. Mathematics includes place value and money, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division concepts, time, data, graphs, fractions, geometry, and measurement. Students continue to grow in Reading, Language Arts, and Spelling with Wonders, Voyages, and Simple Solutions, completing projects like book reports, essays, creative writing prompts, and research assignments that reinforce skills and understanding. This is the integration of outside "research" and learning to complete bibliographies. Cursive handwriting is in this curriculum as well. This year prepares students, greatly, for their last year of elementary school.

5th Grade
These are our elementary “seniors,” ready to consolidate skills and prepare for the transition to middle school. Social Studies examines ancient American cultures, the Age of Exploration, the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, and the American Civil War, giving students a deep understanding of history and its impact on the world today. In Mathematics, students strengthen skills in place value, adding and subtracting decimals, multiplying and dividing whole numbers and decimals, fractions, measurement, and data interpretation using enVision Math. Reading, Language Arts, and Spelling continue with Wonders, Voyages, and Simple Solutions, complemented by projects including book reports, biographies, essays, poetry, and research assignments to foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. There is much encourage to "think outside the box" and much room for creativity as we prepare the students for a whole new way of learning as they branch into the next part of their learning journey.
