Clubs and Extracurriculars

Saint John Neumann Regional Academy

There are a variety of clubs and extracurriculars for St. John Neumann students to participate in. We are always open to students and teachers enhancing the experience by leading initiatives that they feel would be relevant. Our current offerings are listed in alphabetical order, along with a brief description: â€‹

Academic Decathlon
A rigorous academic competition that challenges students across ten subject areas, including literature, math, science, economics, art, and music. Members develop teamwork, study skills, and confidence while competing at the local and regional levels.

​

Chess Club
Students of all skill levels are welcome to learn, practice, and compete in the classic game of strategy and critical thinking. The club promotes problem-solving, patience, and sportsmanship.

 

Choir
Students share their musical talents by singing at weekly Masses and special school events throughout the year. Choir members grow in vocal technique, confidence, and collaboration while enriching the spiritual life of the school.

 

Con Con (Mock Constitutional Convention)
Students engage in a simulated Constitutional Convention, debating and amending constitutional issues while developing skills in research, public speaking, and civic responsibility.

 

Debate Club
Members explore current events and complex topics through structured debates, learning how to research effectively, think critically, and present persuasive arguments in a respectful and professional manner.

 

Drama Club
Students participate in all aspects of theatrical production, including acting, stage design, and technical support. Performances include an annual play or musical that showcases creativity, collaboration, and school spirit.

 

Force for Good Club
A positive, student-driven group dedicated to spreading kindness and encouragement throughout the school community. Members organize initiatives and events that promote positivity, inclusion, and support for others.

 

Interscholastic Reading Competition
Students compete by reading selected books and answering questions as part of an academic team. The club encourages strong reading comprehension, teamwork, and a love of literature.

 

Key Club
An international, student-led service organization focused on leadership and community involvement. Members participate in a variety of service projects that benefit the school, local community, and beyond.

 

Model United Nations (Model UN)
Students role-play as diplomats representing different countries to simulate United Nations conferences. Participants research global issues, practice public speaking, and develop diplomacy and negotiation skills.

 

Music Rock Band and Lessons
Students have opportunities to play instruments, practice, and perform either in synchronized groups or individually. The program supports musical growth, creativity, and performance experience.

 

National Honor Society (NHS)
Recognizes outstanding high school students who demonstrate excellence in Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Members are leaders within the school and actively contribute through service initiatives.

 

National Art Honor Society (NAHS)
Honors students with exceptional ability and interest in the visual arts while promoting scholarship, character, and service. Members participate in creative projects, exhibitions, and community art initiatives.

 

SADD Club (Students Against Destructive Decisions)
A student-led organization focused on promoting healthy choices and preventing risky behaviors. Members raise awareness through education, campaigns, and school-wide initiatives.

 

Scholastic Scrimmage
An academic quiz bowl team that competes by answering questions across a wide range of subjects. Students sharpen quick thinking, teamwork, and broad academic knowledge.

 

Spirit Club
Dedicated to building school pride and enthusiasm throughout the year. Members help organize pep rallies, decorate for events, and create a positive, energetic school atmosphere.

 

Student Council
Students who wish to serve their school and class are encouraged to run for Student Council. Members represent student voices, plan events, and work with administration to improve school life.

 

Youth Development Task Force
Selected students visit Penn College monthly to support, monitor, and raise awareness about mental and physical health. The group focuses on advocacy, education, and peer support.
