Noble Knights Initiative & Social-Emotional Learning
The Noble Knights Initiative serves as the foundation of our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program. Rooted in our Catholic identity, this initiative unifies and strengthens the values we seek to instill in every student while bringing together several key programs, including Kindness Matters, Olweus Bullying Prevention, Positive Behavior Interventions, and Restorative Discipline.
By implementing the Noble Knights Initiative consistently and intentionally across our Academy, we cultivate a positive, faith-filled school culture that supports academic success, emotional growth, and moral development. The Noble Knights mission and expectations are prominently displayed throughout our school buildings and are referenced daily, reinforcing shared values and common language among students and staff.
Our faculty receive ongoing training in core SEL competencies, including:

Responsible decision-making
These skills are intentionally taught and modeled to help students develop positive prosocial behaviors, build strong relationships, and enhance their overall learning experience.

APL Training & Classroom Excellence
In addition to the Noble Knights Initiative, faculty and staff participate in APL (Applied Practices for Learning) Training, which focuses on effective instructional strategies and classroom management techniques. Through consistent application of these practices, teachers are better equipped to:

Restorative Discipline & Re-Teaching
A key component of our approach to student behavior is the practice of re-teaching. Research shows that reflection, modeling, and instruction in positive behavior are more effective than punitive measures alone. Rather than relying solely on consequences such as detention, St. John Neumann Regional Academy emphasizes restorative practices that help students understand expectations, reflect on their actions, and learn appropriate behaviors.
By incorporating re-teaching into our disciplinary model, we guide students toward personal growth, accountability, and long-term success—both in school and beyond.
