Library Mission Statement


The St. John Neumann Regional Academy Library has for its goal that of enriching and supporting the educational objectives of the school curriculum. Its staff will select, organize, provide and maintain materials that serve the informational needs of its students and teachers. Media will also represent the school’s Catholic Christian philosophy and values. The librarian will provide instructional use of these materials when desired or considered necessary.

Library Policies and Procedures
  • Students may check out books and magazines for two weeks and may renew books for an additional two weeks. Reference materials may not be charged out, but can be used during study halls and after school.
  • There are no fines for overdue books, but fines will be incurred if materials are damaged or lost (cost to replace item). If book is found later, it may be returned for the amount minus a processing fee of $2.00.
  • Titles may be “Reserved” for students by the Librarian or students may do so themselves on the OPAC. Students my also ask the librarian to ILL (Interlibrary Loan) materials through Access PA a statewide materials database.
  • Library computers may be used to access the card catalog, research the Internet, or type a paper. Students may not use them for gaming, e-mailing, IMs, blogging, etc., unless required by teacher.
  • Students may download files to a disk or e-mail their research to their home address. If they choose to print personal info or papers for an assignment, it is 10 cents/page. 
Library Rules:
  1. Be considerate of others who are working and share workstations with them.
  2. Use quiet voices.
  3. No food, gum or drinks in the library during class time.
  4. Show care when using all library resources.
  5. Proper dress code and appropriate language are always in style.
